Listening to every heart

Yet & Again

“Haven’t you thrown that away,
yet?”

For though the paper is beginning to parch
From lack of touch, loss of starch,
No, I have not yet
Thrown away the beginnings of me..

As reality reels just too damned true,
Still I hold to hope, and, too,
That bit of me which held a dream
No, I have not yet
Thrown away my beginnings, see…

~*~

Warm nights
                        soft lights
                                            from stars above
             which I know little of

Walking along the sand
                        listening to the demand
                                            of seagulls overhead
             wanting to be fed

Rocks, huge and terrifying heights
defy the waves with all their might

Blanket of blue lies overhead
fringe of gray on horizon’s edge
                                             looks cold, and dead.

Hours pass ~
                        dawn at last
                                             pink and blue
                        as baby new
                 wanders from mother
                              of old.

Gold
                        sand stretches along
                                             waves crashing a song.
                        Somehow?
                    I don’t belong.

So I leave
                        quiet behind me.
Leaving a world of nature’s own
                                      to wander towards

my distant home.

~*~

I feel me then,
Long locks and frozen clocks
Slender limbs and full of him,
Way back when…

He’s gone, a long time coming
Full circle now,
Still I crave the beach
For somehow, someone feels the reach

And won’t throw my beginnings
Out to sea.

Karilea:

you know without those beginnings
you wouldnt be you now would you?

Please . . .  hold them tight
then fly . . .

You know,

Every so often, the tide turns, and brings back only what has remained strong and endless.  Wonderful. TD

Karilea, I am enjoying so much the way you incorporate
yesteryear with today in these pieces...
These are so precious and filled with much insight.
No..not yet...perhaps, not ever.

Moi duex!  I love the history behind the poem, and in this one the feelings it brings out in the reader which are sadness in the loss, hope in the future, but almost a void inbetween somehow.  I did like this one a lot!

This is just lovely.  You inspired me:

Yes, reality can be a dream come true.
If we hold onto our beginnings and follow them through.

Glad to see you, my friend.

Karilea...to complete any circle, you must go back to the beginning to form the clasp.  Love this, and you!!
