Worn on the inside, like a comfortable dream
Rubbed thin and shiny from pockets to seam
Sometimes so thread bare to weary away
As the last of the stitches lean to finest of fray

Tattered worn patches that cover small holes
Wispy in texture from bonnet to soles
Clinging on tightly to faint placket baste
Finally sheer in the weave, ribbons laced

Faded and softened in whimsical blues
Un-pressed and wrinkled, a giggled amuse
Worked into fabrics that snuggle and sleek
Leather to satin, as in love hearts turn meek

Worn on the outside, courageous and calm
Tough and yet tender, each beat counted on
Sometimes to alter the pattern cut out
Last to discard, and the first wrapped about

Worn, and thin,
more comfortable
than silk...

yes...

I have this pair of jeans that has this hole
in the back.....well,  maybe I should just
get rid of them??  What a poetic seamstress
you are my friend,  well done.

You are like a shawl over my shoulders.
The very presence of your words are ever comfortable and warm.

Beautiful, as always TD~

Reminds me of this huge cotton patchwork quilt I have - all ripped up and torn in places . . .  but you know what?

That is my favorite of them all
and here . . .

you patched those spots for me
