I'll be by your side
I told her gently
Softly making love by a fire's eyes
In the raw emotion
Of a quiet bond.
This is a mitosis of two souls
As they have searched the naked landscape
Into plains of scarred dunes
And have fallen,
Helplessly,
Into sands of understanding
