“The world”
She once said to me
“Bows to you”

I guess I had been alternately
Reading
And railing about my lot of late

When she paused in her practicing
To address me squarely

Her violin held loosely
Dangling by her side
While in the other hand
Her bow waggled in remonstration

“You are new to me,
But I know you” she said,
While she re-cased the instrument
With a loving caress
Before lowering the lid

“But I’m going to be cross with you
If you keep interrupting”
Said in a manner
That belied her one score and one

“And I know
That you have done nothing
That you’ve not been lauded for”

With that
She crossed the room to the stereo
And dropped the needle
On her beloved “Grappelli”

And started losing her laundry
As she walked down the hall
Leaving a trail
That even I could follow

Rising, I thought
That on this day, at least
The world does indeed
Pay homage to me

Oh my!! Me thinks there might be some "fiddling around" in this musical escapade. Well done wranx. Is there going to be more? Or no encore to-day? Hmmmmm? Chris
by the way...I am putting this in my library!

Great write, Wranx!

“The world”
She once said to me
“Bows to you”

the world bows to you is a great line. rest of the poem was pretty good, but this stood out.

Wranx~  You manage to encase your thoughts,
and string them ever so beautifully.

This is quite lovely and endearing.
