Hey little one
the clouds are playing grey today
and I
in sit alone
am hearing strains of blue

Can you not find a note
or two
that might fall from your lips
and dance finger tips
on keys
soft stroked
to soothe
the lowered ceiling
in chase of
ease?

There are distant rumbles
Somewhere,
beyond my sight
the lightning strikes,
and I
hear the hum...
slow tempoed drums

Hold me in lyrics
honey smooth
that I might taste the sweet
of such this day

this day
is blue...

then sing the soothing song of light
and let it waft into the night,
bring the day onto a close,
and tender petal it with a rose,

sing the song of blues gone gray
and wish it to a holiday,
where all we might do is come, and play,
perhaps read poetry by the bay...

and toward the end as sun comes low,
perhaps we'll chance a golden glow,
where sun and water merge as one,
where blue's gray holiday comes undone...

Great title to go with perfect poem.

"hear the hum, slow tempoed drums"

Honestly should quote the entire poem for each word/line is rich and special to the 'whole' of it.

Your talent never ceases to amaze me.

Enjoyed this greatly,

Hugs, Pat

Stretch out with me in
shade of tree
hot rays of sun
embrace us

Sip sweet lemonade
until we drift
on wings of
warming sleep

Awake we find
the day is gone
night beckons
sweet repose
