A Love Remembered

I watch her
and I see so much of myself in her.
I can remember
like it was yesterday
the excitement of being in love.
I can still feel the blood
rushing through my veins
causing my heart to skip a beat
and my face to blush.
I can still feel my cheeks
as they rise with laughter
and ache with joy.
I recall stumbling over my own words
and only being able to call out
his name.
With every breath I took,
I inhaled his very being;
all his sweetness,
all his charm,
...all of him.
Touching him
brought pure ecstasy
and I would become induced
in his drug.
I could never have enough--
always wanting more.
Everyday I would pray
that the next day be better
than the day before.
Now I pray
...that I was her.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I love this SO much!!!! Sticking it in my private library this moment!!!!!

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

You can't imagine how this has moved me, thank you. One tiny grammatical thing at the end is changing her to she.  The way you worded this made me able to get right in that place of being the owner and speaker of the feelings expressed.  Into my library it goes....

:}

Thank you SOOOOO much.  You don't know (I guess you do) how much your comments mean to me.

I wrote this in my journal one day after noticing that my oldest teenage daughter was in love.  How I remember the days.

Love,

Wow!!!

Another wonderful piece of writing from your talented pen, Naomi.

Suetang,

Thanks again for your comments and your compliment.

May your pen never dry of ink and may your pencil never dull.
