~*~ Sacrifice for a MerMaiden ~*~

I’m here in these waters, can’t come onto shore
I’m bound to the sea, but I’m longing for more…
Desire inside me is burning for you,
I’ve been watching you closely, do all that you do.

You’re there on the shore, where you live day to day
I want you so bad in my own secret way…
Your dark hair and skin - ever kissed by the sun
I’m alone here at sea - but I know you’re the one.

Would you give up the life that you know on the land?
Dive into the ocean, be free - take my hand…
I’ll give you the air that you need to be free
Live with me in these waters - be one with the sea.

We could swim to the edge of the world that you know
Turn around and come back, and make love far below
The shimmering surface, again and again -
Please say that you will, so our love can begin.

Once you come in though, I need you to know
You can never go back - you must let it all go…
I’ll give you the air that you need to be free
Are you willing to give it all up just for me?

Walk into the tide, and come out deeper still
I am waiting for you, all your needs I’ll fulfill…
Now take a deep breath, put your mouth soft on mine
Breathe deeply through me, as our souls intertwine.

Don’t be afraid - there is nothing to fear
The moon shining down is our guide ever near…
I am yours, you are mine - we are mermaid and man
Let’s be one, you and I while the sea says we can.

poetSeaMaiden...A lovely tale of love from afar and love beneath the sea. I love the legends of Mermaids or Merman that they are sometimes called. Your poem does this in a most effective way. **Ivy Rose

poetSeaMaiden,
Oh this made me cry because it was so beautiful! Oh what a wonderful poem...again! How do you do it? I have never read so many wonderful poems by one person before. Oh I am an even bigger fan of yours now, and I didn't think that was possible!!!

Wow, let me tell you something, look into the eyes of any man and say this, and he will be yours forever!

Enticing...will there be enough mermaids to go around?   James

A lovely mermaid's tail--I mean "tale"!
This was a compelling and alluring poetic gem that I read three times for the sheer pleasure of it!
Lovely.

The ocean is calling your name and it echoes along the shore. He will hear you--and he will come...

Hee hee! Thanks Thomas, I like the little pirate you left me, but um...do pirates EAT mermaids?? *gasp*  We aren't like, on your menu or anything, right? SCAREY!!

We don't taste good at all, and we have LOTS of bones, just so you know!

Oh no. Nope, I don't want to hear ANY of the fishy stories, ok? I don't want to know how many you've caught, or how BIG they really were, or how many you've eaten, or even what they tasted like, ok?   LOL! Just giving you a hard time. You know you left yourself WIDE open for that. hee hee!
