how do we address
an envelope to the undertaker?
blood on my lips
from the last cherry tree left standing
compound the chemistry into a glass funnel
rafts of smoke dissipate on a tongue of flame
satin gorges pour forth white linen
and we call it lust
I got cauliflower greens grafting
with the hyacinths
in my garden of vampire soil
sand sucks the moisture from the local tendrils
refurbishing the crafty no talents
who do the finer math
with a regulator present
I am perhaps, a fool
for believing a word that falls loose from your mouth
but I can accept that
I just cant take the slow withdrawal
the fading of newsprint
under the chafing of the sun
when I pass on
I want the earth to quake
and sigh
a slow refrain, like the passing of a storm
into memoirs of something
that was larger than life
