~*The Heart Of A Poet*~

Listen to the heart
that weeps onto the page,
each written word heals
just a little more pain.
Verses holding
the secrets inside~
tears fading
the ink through time.

Hear the heart
whispering
across the page
telling it's story
of days
gone by.
Feel the emotions
bled through the words~

somehow, somewhere
a soul is searching'

seeking to soar.

Read the words
spilled onto the page~
behold the heart
of a poet.

I must have had my momma's will
and Gods Amazing Grace...

I'm a survivor....

Donna, this is fantastic!  Have you thought about submitting this for this book or the next?  You'd definately have my vote, this is a MUST for all poets.  I'm saving this in my library until then

You have my applause, this is beautiful.

lol, thanks Melissa.  Ya know me, if it doesn't rhyme it don't seem quit right to me, but this is one of those times rhyming didn't feel correct, so this is it...

Kari, it has been so long since I even had a notion to write, seems my muse briefly abandoned me or was just being stubborn.
This sort of came to me yesterday and I wasn't sure how to make it complete.
Now it feels complete.  Thanks my sunny days will never end friend....

Excellent poem,
If only the words could heal,
For some they do
For others they just fall unnoticed
Like tears in the ocean
Or a message scrawled in the margin
Of a very thick book.

Enjoyed

All hearts perhaps contain the same things... but a poet's heart does indeed offer the world a window in.. something so many do not do..

I am truly overwhelmed right now at the response to this.  It seems no matter how long we are away from these pages, while we are gone in our hearts we are still poets,
and always will be.
Thank you all so very much, you guys and gals are truly the best group of people anyone could ever want as friends.
Peace to poetry land,
