In the Mood of Me

I have this heart that reaches out
becomes addicted to words and then
reading as if they're meant for me
rebuilds a warmth inside, again.

To fill the loss, these blue screen dreams
have given way to dance of moods
yielding to a tenderness,
shadows of, past interludes.

A fine respite, a pause in life,
to linger in the happiness
that memories can rise in smiles
these many moods, we each possess.

I'm mooded often, toned by you,
words made up to fit my cause.
And so I sway to warmth of Spring
breezes tempting thoughts in pause.

The dark has lifted, the want no more,
no longer locked in shadow's own.
I am the me, I use to be
no longer searching for the unknown.

M

~ I enjoyed reading this poem. It captivated me. This final stanza, if it means what I think it does, is an excellent beginning, Maureen.

Maureen- Amen to this! Let's embrace the light and feel our spirits lift. Well done! hugs, Chris

Opeth, thank you for your response. I have  been pondering what makes me tick lately and realized I wasn't being true to myself and that I will begin again, this time not looking for any happiness or expecting any in return, but instead enjoying each day for what it is.

Then when my time comes and it is the right time, I will know it and it will bring me even more pleasure. Life shouldn't be so hard, and I was making it so.
Hugs to you for always understanding.

M

Midnightsun and nightshade, thank you both for your kind responses.
