                (R)
I stroll a winding path through the life i lead,
I enter and open garden and plant my lonley seed.

You see but a picture of the face that lies within,
So many see just the surface of whats benethe my skin.

I display a pretty smile to conceal the pain inside,
I sing a silent song to the soul that I hide.

Others see the sorrow masked across my face,
some even offer me a solacing embrace.

I strain my neck to keep my head held high,
I hold hostage my own soul within a well keeped lie.

What you see as strenght and courage, I see only as life.
And when others offer me their pity, IT feels like a steel knife.

Is it not unique , my journey through I feel alone just the same,
When no one can remember me , will you remember my flame?
                        (R)

(smiles) We will most certainly recognize your flame as it is most gracious to be true to yourself by all means for the heart is where the flame glows! (big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, love the attitude in this, you have my ember vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

'I hold hostage my own soul within a well keeped lie.'
As a note, it's actually 'kept', not 'keeped', but that's not why I brought up this line. It...spoke to me. Beautiful, really deep. Wonderful. The whole poem, actually, was amazing. Here, you prove that you have skill, and I'm merely a shadow of it! (A dying ember compared to your flame...)

Blessed Be Thee,
Stephanie

Well, the title grabbed me and pulled me in, and the poem was really great after that!  Yes, this is a painful reminder of how life can swallow us up. I've felt this way before too, for sure. Good to know we're not alone, 'eh?
