She wants to be a ballerina
she does a little dance…
kicks up her feet
her arms flit here and there
she sways to a slow song--
   sometimes there is no song
but she dances
a dance like no other
her own version of everything
in her little soul!
She wants to be a ballerina…

She wants to be a rodeo girl!
She wants to ride the big horse--
Duke is his name
And she’s in heaven
Sitting high above the world
Atop a gentle honey colored giant
She wants to circle the barrels
And carry the American flag
She wants to hear the crowd roar
With excitement!
She wants to be a rodeo girl…

She’s an angel in a little body
Golden curls teasing her precious face
And sweet little neck
Her wings of glitter and soft white cloud
Are hidden from adult view--
But I’m sure she’s an angel
Sent here to teach me a thing or two
Sent here to show me that even I
Need to slow down sometimes
To watch a caterpillar in the leaves
To pick a flower for a friend
To find a pretty rock—
     And save it!
No matter what she wants to be
She’s an angel loaned to me as a gift
She’s my angel
     For a little while…

Let her be all those things...soon enough
she'll have to settle for only three or four
of her dreams - but while she's young...let
her live them all!

This is precious, I love your new photo, and I certainly agree...

this is a most precious angel!

Well, of course you KNOW I love this.
I think this is one of my favorite 'Joie'
poems...and I love them ALL. LOL
I know you always write your heart, but
especially so when you write of her.
This put a huge smile on my face.
Love and hugs to you and Jojo,

I do not think anyone enjoyed reading that Joie poem more than her Grandmama MiMi . How beautiful and you are beautiful for always writing from your heart. She will fulfill her dreams one day. God is in her heart and she will know she can do anything her heart desires.  She is truly an Angel!

dg, this poem and picture is just perfect. It's so precious. And I'm glad that it is back at the top for Mother's Day. It's such a loving poem from a Mother to her little girl.

Oh, here's a picture I found of a litlle Angel for your little Angel to see. I hope she likes it.....

(photo from webshots)

Thank you for writing from your heart.
Hugs,
Ethel
