Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-04-25 04:39 PM

You caress my open wounds,
Suck the crying infection out from me,
And seal it with the stitches of your kiss.
My blood runs for sanctuary.
You're the safest place I know.

It's when your eyes sparkle
That all my insides tingle
And shudder with smiles.
You are my happiness.

I watch, entranced
As the bumps rise on my skin
In a wave of wonder.
The things you make me feel
Astounds me and
My feet grip for flooring.
You are the break to my fall.

It's the way you keep turning my pages
Thirsty for this broken soul inside of me
And your humble eyes
That see everything
But never judge.

I thought you were impossible.
A princess's dream in a fairy tale
Is where I found you
Nestled quietly under
The thoughts of your ever turning mind.

You are the sun that warms my face,
Gently drying the tears
That have dampened my eyes
For centuries.
Past memories and broken mirrors
Lie in the eyes you never look away from.
You are everything I trust in.
You are the grass that tickles my feet
And the wind that plays through my hair.
You are love
And my love I trust in you.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Thank you, QjQ. I wrote it on my roof, lol. Finally I have gotten the inspiration I needed from nature. I have forgotten through the winter that outside is my favorite place.

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Most impressive with lots of interesting lines. I have read this several times and each time seem to get more out of it.

'You caress my open wounds,
Suck the crying infection out from me,
And seal it with the stitches of your kiss."

Fascinating ... hugs, Marti

KoKo, even though you may be talking about
nature, this relates very much to the way I
feel about my darling. He loves me so
unconditionally that's it's amazing to me.
Hugs,
Ethel

lol, Ethel, I was talking about my love! Silly girl, lol I'm really glad you've found someone who loves you unconditionally! A rare find and a true treasure! But I'm sure you know that
passingshadows: Hehehehe, I knew some would get a little squeamish around that. Thanks for continuing to read, though and taking the time to comment! I appreciate it.
Earth Angel: Wow!!! Thanks!
Thank you very much everyone! I really appreciate all of you taking the time to read and comment!!!

After reading your other poem Diamonds With Eyes [Incredible!], I had to read this:
"You caress my open wounds,
Suck the crying infection out from me,
And seal it with the stitches of your kiss."
-This doesn't make me squeamish at all. I think this is beautiful, though I am a bit strange so... Great description, heard peoples pain descibed as wounds many times before but not in such an original fashion.

"My blood runs for sanctuary.
You're the safest place I know." -So good!

"It's when your eyes sparkle
That all my insides tingle
And shudder with smiles.
You are my happiness." -Yes love does this doesn't it? It is impossible to be upset- when your love is happy, it creates overwhelming joy inside. I love how you said this!

"It's the way you keep turning my pages
Thirsty for this broken soul inside of me
And your humble eyes
That see everything
But never judge." -This is so beautiful, it makes me want to cry!

"You are the sun that warms my face,
Gently drying the tears
That have dampened my eyes
For centuries." -Great expression of all the time you have suffered, and how it is at an end, and how!

"Past memories and broken mirrors
Lie in the eyes you never look away from." -Oh if only I could write like this!

"You are love
And my love I trust in you." -Great ending, and if you are like me, I know what a big deal it is to say that to someone, to mean it completely and without reserve.
Sorry if I went crazy here, but this is so good! I have never read two poems more beautiful and heartwarming in the same day in my life. And they were both yours. Oh I love your work! I am now such a fan!

Did you find your love on your roof, too?  If so, I am headed for mine.  Not only does beautiful poetry come there, but the inspiration, too!  LOL

I loved this one.  I am so glad you have this special person.

Startime: Thank you!! I believe Love must be my muse, that is when all my true feelings flow without force. Perhaps almost unbidden...
Eric: Thank you! Coming from you that is extremely flattering.
Noah: You always were good at making everyone feel loved! Hehe, thank you very, very, much. You are so sweet! I'm sure once you find your special one you'll make her feel wonderful.
Patricia: Hehehe, thank you! No, I did not find my love on the roof. Now THAT would be an interesting story..."Mom? Dad? Where did you guys first meet?" "Well, hunny, I found your Father on my roof..." Hehe! Thank you sweety
Spirit: Thank you!!! You are very kind
poetSeaMaiden: Wow, are you sure you read the same poem? Hehehe, thanks! I don't think I've seen you around before. Welcome to Passions!!!
Carol: Aaaaaw, thank you
Thank you EVERYONE! Anyone who took the time to read and/or comment, and/or vote has my undying gratitude
