Winds blow and furl the once calm sea
into a furrowed rolling row.
A sailor’s grave and destiny
within the dark deep depths below.

Yea though I tread oceans mighty,
though my life the blue seas shall keep.
I break the sail to end a journey
and in thy hands my soul will sleep.

Of the deep perilous waters
and the setting sun’s waning light,
a sailor’s life is what matters
though the ship’s sails are still at night.

Red skies shall bathe the fading cloud
as dolphins drift and rise the wave.
A sail becomes a sailor’s shroud
as waters blue became his grave.

To sail the blue ocean mighty
and brace the main before the storm.
To live the life and sail hardy
into the way of peril’s harm.

Barry this is so very sad and moves me. Beautiful scenery you designed with your words .... the melancholy is deeply felt.
A very sensitive write.

You carried me through the ever changing wind,
and left me drifting in every good thought.

I so enjoy your tall tales Barry~

I felt the seabreezes and the furl of sail. So many restless souls lie in the deep seas, but you always manage to bring them up, if only for a moment.

I'm not crying..it's the salt air in my eyes Barry.
You write of the sea so wonderfully...
you must love it.
This is exceptional!!

What we know from our footsteps, and from what we entrench our minds through reading, is what we should write about...

and this, this, is what you do...

A good read, Magnus...a very good read.  You've been away awhile.  Welcome home!
