True Love

I say to her, "I love you so much today."
She says, "Why do you say you love me
today?"

I answer, "Because my eyes see and my
heart feels this way about you today."
She asks me to explain to her, "Why?"

I tell her, "Well, today I love you more
then yesterday."
She asks, "Why do you love me more today
then yesterday?"

I say, "Because my heart aches and my eyes
tear when I don't have you near."

She says, "But you know I love you dearly."
I answer, "Yes, you say you love me today,
more than yesterday, but will you love
me as much tomorrow?"

She explains, "If I don't, my heart will break
and my eyes will tear in sorrow."

*smile* I love this. It's beautiful in that it explores the feelings of love, and it expresses the frailty of human beings too... or that's how I read it.

I'm like that. "Why do you say that?" and then I hope for the answer I want to hear.

Anyway, I love this.
