I know this guy named Balladeer,
He read the paper every day.
But what was strange and kind of queer,
The "obits" just made his day.

He'd write down all the deaths,
Every day he did the same,
Take his phone directory,
Then cross out all those names.

Then one early morning,
While reading the "obits"
He ran across his own name,
This really gave him fits.

He thought he'd better make some calls
To get this mis-print right,
He grabbed the phone immediately,
Starting with his wife.

Next he called his boss man,
To tell him it's not true,
But he'd already seen the paper,
And called the florist too.

His boss got on the phone,
His reply left Bally numb,
"Just tell me something Balladeer,
Which place you calling from?"

Well, this was certainly a much softer touch--and just as enjoyable! You have quite a fertile and imaginative "humorous" bone!

Warm, spring day hugs,

ROFLMAO... His wife hasn't seen life outta him in so long she probably shrugged, wondering what's the difference... and he must have been a new employee... otherwise his boss would have assumed he was toasting (probably for all those times he's been so mean to your sweet innocent self! *G*)

Love the latest volley in the war! *S*

Well at least most of us don't have to worry about seeing our name in the obits...James

Toe, we finally agree on something...it IS lame!

Suthern gal, your reply has wounded me deeply...I am dashed! I'll be sure we will go out on Shannon's boat again for Memorial Day...just don't sit too close to the edge
