Stay with
me awhile
and sitting by
Siddartha's river
we'll listen to
the water whisper
answers we need
not seek

Looking up "Siddartha's river", sounds like my kind of place.Silence, a drink, and a peaceful acceptance.

As I recall, Siddartha spent his life searching for truth and understanding.  Perhaps it is as simple as listening to a river with a friend.  Enjoyed this!

Thanks for reading Karilea

Thanks Dixie

Siddartha is the protganist of Herman Hesse's novel by the same name. His work has touched me deeply and I suggest all his work especially Narcissus and Goldmun, Siddartha, Demian and Steppenwolf.

That he did Martie as have many of us, few take the time to listen in silence

Glad to have you aboard Maree

Thank you Linda sort of a counter balance to my earlier post

Something about knowing the answers
"we need not seek"  That is too true.

Good thinking you~

Oh Raffaele this is a beautiful invitation ... may our hair grow while we dive deep into silence and let treasures unfold ....
I also love all of Hesse's works, especially Siddharta and Narcissus and Goldmund.

yes Sue canadian beer not that p*** water you yanks call beer grin

Grazie Margherita, I think Demian is underrated and being a short story doesn't get the attention it deserves that said I've always loved it for the parallels with my own life though Narcissus and Goldmun is sheer poetry

Thanks Brad as does yours!

Dream Mine too that's why I'm inviting people to catch anything I may miss ..grin

You just keep getting better and better with your deep simplicity...less is obviously more from your pen.  I love the last two lines and am adding this to the rest of your poems already saved in my library.
