You're staying on track
by fighting my resistance
keeping a distance
it's only me
holding back
Moment's past stall
such meaningful emotions
deeper than oceans
by lock and key
one more wall
Chains of time do slack
worn by such a weary heart
thus falling apart
no mystery
beating back
I still try to reach
but you are unable to
not sure what to do
love's misery
felt by each
And when things seem black
arms stretching even longer
faith will be stronger
you will feel me
holding back

Wonderful verse Craig~
and a heartfelt write full of angst
and indecision.  Or so that is my take.

It's always good to read you~

Craig, oh what a quandary this is. Time is passing by so quickly....holding back would not be my choice. But, then again, I have been known to have fallen on my face more than once. That's life....right? Great write, enjoyed. Chris

Thank you everyone for your time and comments ....
I don't think I was able to portray
the complete rhythm of this particular
relationship ... with all the tugs and
pulls of a new "romance", I tried to
metaphore "holding back" first as stepping
back and, at the end, as hugging in
   return.
