Skulking in our dark sweet lair,
pockets full of deep despair,
thieving Hobbits, tricks, will play,
trouble is a-foot this day.

Dine on insects, worms, and fish,
spiders make a tasty dish.
Hungry Gollum, Precious say,
"Let us not be easy prey"

Once did walk among the men,
Precious came to us, and when
we knew then that comes what may,
yes my Precious, hide away.

Nasty Hobbits, see them creep,
Gollums' Precious, he will keep
out of filthy Hobbits way,
Precious, Gollum, will obey.

Skulking in our dark sweet lair,
pockets full of deep despair,
Yes, my Precious, as we say,
"Hobbits can't be trusted, Eh?"

I love this beyond words..my god do I really have to wait until December for the next installment of the movies? Even though that last one didn't sit well with me.

QjQ,
Thanks. I haven't seen the movie, I just drew on the memory of the book which I read some 25 odd years ago. Judging from the replies, I haven't offended too many Tolkien fans.
Doc
Enchantress,
Thank you. I really tried to get inside his head to write this ( as much as old memories would allow).I'm glad you liked.
Doc
Joyce,
Thank you much. Fun it was to write also. Trying to capture the essence of the poor twisted creature J.R.R. so eloquently created.
Doc
littlewing,
Thanks. Done with much trepidation on my part. To attempt to write of a Tolkien character without insulting the writer belies the simplicity of the read.
Doc
Ratleader,
Ah, high praise. Thank you sir. I've always
admired this character( poor twisted creature that he is). The parallels that can be drawn and applied to those around us(and even ourselves) never cease to amaze.
Doc
Aenimal,
Thank you. I've read quite a few of your works, and have been quietly impressed. If I may say so, you seem to filter the extraneous
well, paring things down to their essentials.
Your comments are appreciated.
Doc
Jason,
Thanks for the reply. I'd have to say it's all about focus. How well you can get inside
the subject. For the time I was writing this
I was Gollum. Beset by outside forces, twisted by needs and obsession. A shadow creature. Perhaps I should seek help.
Doc
Martie,
Thank you so much. You're a wonderfully gifted poet and an inspiration.

Munda,
I am deeply honored. As for the "stute" saving me, it didn't work the first time, did it? I guess some people are just beyond redemption, ( so... no, you don't get your nickel back. Be well.
Doc

Android 17,
Thank you much, I wasn't sure if this would appeal to constructs or not. You must be one of the more advanced models.
