My library is akin to yours... scattered works of ashes... however... I treasure my books...all of them... I root through pages to find, hallowed thought of men who've passed, their leavings for me to mind... some one day, perhaps I may grace a desk or ledge... though not so deep nor manicured, as the words you dredge... for you have built a monument, three, or four, or more, where I come and sit quite happily, to read what you have stored... I travel halls of your mind, and try to see through eyes that have seen far more than mine, and thus, I realize... that naive I am, in middle age, though young at heart I be, so research is still mine to have, by which to write my poetry... ~*~ I have been SO inspired lately by some of the best around here... thank you, Richard... |

Wow! Sunshine, I hope you posted this independent of my cobwebbed work. C'est bon! I, too love research. I pull little threads of interest and they lead me to places heretofore unknown to me. All inspiring. Thank you for your classic comment. |

Thank you Nancy. A good many I've obtained on Ebay, at affordable prices. They even have 500 year old bibles there (affordable for some I suppose) |

Richard, I recently picked up a collection [3 Volumes] of The Works of Charles Dickens... why? because they are in excellent condition; they contain NO copyright date; and the type is teeny-tiny...which also means that the stories are in whole, not RD'd to death...and some of the illustrations still have the original onionskin... oops...you didn't want to see me here again, did you?  |

Why wouldn't I want some Sunshine? When I get in that buying groove I often go for Victor Hugo, whose home in Paris I've visited and whose "Les Miserables" is my favorite novel. |

and I have had the pleasure of stepping into Faulkner's home, and into Hearst's home... and in my "past"...who knows whose homes I've been in?  ...This is so wonderful Richard...a great photo... an open mind... never close it from us again. And never let a woman tell you what to do. |

Chris...Thanks, I've lost most everything but hang onto at least 100 books of poetry. Sunshine...women have and have not been a problem (and if I take your advice, then I won't) Janet Marie....maybe someday. Thank you. |

Richard, mon ami. Je pense que vous etes l'epitome de l'homme de poesie. I read Victor Hugo in French, and the English translation, and of course, saw the movie Les Miserables. In fact, I've read most of the books in your collection, except the one Steal Me? or whatever it was called. Not only did I enjoy the poem but the interaction created by the posting of it. There is nothing like a good book of poetry, or a novel to get friends talking. A glimpse into a poet's mind is all some people need to see a path to their heart. You have a million books with millions of ideas born from them to share yet m'friend |

I liked the music in Les Miz but didn't like the treatment of the Thernadiers who were child abusing, grave robbing scum in the novel but comic relief in the musical. I tried to give my oldest the first name of Cossette (1983) but was overruled by my ex (its her middle name) In some ways I've fancied myself Jean Valjean. Sharon.....Yes, interaction is fun...on my up days. Thanks. |
