Closing the book with a silent sigh,
I sat still, wondering why
I couldn’t be more like you.
Why couldn’t I breathe the fresh air
within the morning dew,
hear the sweet song of the nightengale
as clearly as you?
Words fell from your mouth and pen
as if they were warmed drops of honey.
Colors fell from your opened eyes,
rainbows gifted ‘neath highest clouds,
waterfalling themselves down the page
as if that had been God’s intent.

Taste my words, I cried in repeat.
Honor these most perfect healing thoughts.
Feel the heat of this passionate heartbeat,
surround yourself within a veil
of purest unconditional love.
Let go the coarse ties that bind
your humanity into knots
of fear, sorrow, anger, revenge.
Lift your eyes and see
the myriad of spiritual thoughts
which flow constantly,
from many different tongues,
in love, unconditionally
from the One single source
of all that lives and breathes.
Do not divide yourself
into ‘twixt and ‘tween,
but become as one entity.
Then you shall know
Peace.

Kacy:

Let go the coarse ties that bind
your humanity into knots

Yes - the key to it all
This was amazing - may all of us find
that inner peace . . .

You question yourself and you give the answers ....
This is beautiful.
Why couldn’t I breathe the fresh air
within the morning dew,
hear the sweet song of the nightengale
as clearly as you?

The book DID bring you closer to this miracle .... and peace IS.
Love, Margherita

(sigh) I truly think that though all of us are imperfect, if we can be accustomed to the honey of His words, we can be as close to perfect as possible and harmony for ourselves and others can be established! (kiss on cheek) May we all join together in His army of love and peace, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Zinsser, thanks! Glad to see you back in here.

Noah, thanks friend. We may each have a different 'Book' but whatever we follow, hopefully we each follow a belief system that truly prefers acts of kindness and peace to fighting and war.

I tried following the Kama Sutra and felt the same way, flipping through the pages I thought the same. Why can't I be more like you? Why doesn't my leg bend that way? How doesn't that hurt? It's a tough, but you gotta have faith

Just beautiful in a "longing" sort of way! *sighs*  I've closed many a book the same way. ( Laughing at the Kama Sutra comment you got! )   That's so funny!

Amazing, Kacy. Just...Amazing.

Raph, LOL, how did you know I have 'The Complete Kama Sutra' unabridged version?
Yep some postures are nearly impossible.

SeaMaiden, thanks for reading, and also for sharing in the laugh (that reply is closer to the truth than one might think)

Koko, so glad you enjoyed this one

Kacy, I read this when you first posted it; I didn't have time to comment then.  Thank goodness it was popped up again....

I like this...I understand most of it, some parts, though, confuse me a little.  Sort of like seeing it as if you are talking to yourself, and your journal - where you are honest with parts of you; then berate yourself for not telling the full story....

just my take...I'm sure if I read it again in the morning, I'll see it differently again...

but that's what I like about your writing.  I keep seeing different nuances in it, throughout the day's hours...in fact, that's only ONE of the things that I like about you...

Hmmm,
Tasting words, is that like licking stamps or sealing with a kiss,
When I was a wee tike, I used to gnaw on my school books
certainly yours is a tastier write than first grade spelling

I am new here and have not read this work before.

This is a commanding, demanding, masterful piece of poetry.

I am glad it surfaced.  It certainly broke through the surface of my mind.  Thank you for posting it here.

Sunshine, it WAS from my Daily Thoughts journal, which is never written on anything more solid than my mind...which is not so solid these days.

Voice, thank you so much, for reading this piece.

icebox? you're making me smile just a little bit here. Thank you, for reading this chapter and commenting.

This, I think, is one of your best.

I'd love to tell ya why, but I don't really know.

Oh! the imagery! (just re-read it.)
