Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2003-04-20 11:43 PM

Darkness from within
Gloom from without
I stare at these walls
That have been placed around me
In my head I see nothing
Hear nothing
Movement is not possible
I keep running
Yet I can never leave
I scream out
Yet my cries go unheard
I can hear you
Can you not see me
You are telling me it's time to go
You want me to leave
I have others waiting to take me Home
But I don't know where Home is
Can you help me find my way
I feel lighter now
The heaviness is seeming to fade
As the sun becomes brighter
Or is it the sun at all
I wonder
Those voices
Angelic choirs to my ears
You are letting me go
Allowing my Earthly bonds to go free
I will be with you as you continue your journey
Yet as I continue on mine
And soon we shall all
Bask in the eternal Happiness together

When the morning cries and you don't know why...

This is sad! And, I understand this feeling very well.

Brad, I have always wondered about something.....how in the world do people get through the loss of a loved one without having faith that there is a better place for them to go? My heart really goes out to those people who don't believe.
This is really a great testimony of your faith, dear friend.

A very beautiful poem, friend.

Ethel- That is an extremely good question to which I have absolutely no good answer to. My soon-to-be ex-wife is an avowed athiest (actually, I think she's more the agnostic) and swears that her mother is going to a better place where there is no more illness and her pains will all be gone... I don't know. maybe it's a woman thing to be that contradictory.  lol
Thank you for the kind thoughts.

Smart Chick- Thanks

Martie- Right back atcha

Brad:

this is lovely - like how you intertwine the two thoughts . . .

I do believe in angels - that at least can be something of a comfort if nothing else

(a woman thing . . . grrr . . .lol)

The fact that you still care
for your mother-in-law in spite of
the soon-to-be...says a lot for
your character...

a good write, Ringo...
compassionate...caring.

beautiful & well written - may you find comfort & solace as you share

and as far as understanding women
I think we have a better chance at understanding god & eternity - lol
I'll never understand them but I appreciate these earthbound angels who bring heaven to us

hey between yours & littlewings responses I think you both inspired my next write - lol
