Between a laugh and a tear...

Tubrabucca Dust

I remember old Tom
round the fire at night
How he’d lay the bait
and she’d always bite

Recall the old bush tales
From family and friends
How the nights went on
And the stories had no end

How we laughed and played
And rolled in the dust
When Hide and Seek
Really was a must

I look back now
On those days of old
And still I wonder
Of those stories bold

I’m sure that was the time
When the seed was sown
And when I recall their smiles
‘Twas as if they’d known

Well it’s different now
Cause Tubrabucca is gone
But in these old hearts
It forever lives on…

Yes, the tales live on and get passed around because bards like you see the value in passing along these wonderful gifts of ancestry. Thank you.

This makes me wish to be a kid again
and tie all the red wagons together to make
our very own wagon train.

Thank you for sharing your memories,
and bringing my favorite one back.
