Hitting The Nail On The Head

I'm really not very good at that,
hitting the nail on the head.
I had to pound at least eight times
until that nail was bent instead.

You'd probably laugh at me tonight
if you had seen me try.
I'm sweated up from those three nails
and sometimes wish that I

Had someone here with strength in arms.
I'll admit I am no good
with hammers, yet give me a drill
and there'll be holes where once was wood.

I'm smiling at myself tonight,
for patience, I have not,
and had to nail that moulding up
when told that I knew "squat".

What's done is done and bent or not
it's on the wall to stay.
I'll dab some paint to hide those nails
that hounded me today.

Karilea..I had these bright new ideas to do and decided if I wanted it done I had to do it myself..I have never been good at hammering against a wall...oh well one can't be good at everything

and I was in a very confined space, but it wouldn't have mattered.

to hit the nail on the head, we sometimes have to think ahead, so with all the bent nails and holes in the wall it's the end results that count,

There are options...you can use self tapping screws or you can pre-drill a size smaller hole with a drill and then drive the nail in much easier...James
