We all have moments in our lives
that we wish could go on forever,
~ a special snapshot for one's album of life.
Memories that we record for safe-keeping
in both our minds and our hearts.
This, for me, is such a moment.
It is a beautiful spring afternoon
and I have just made my way down to
the picturesque lake that lies
beyond our property's edge.
I am sitting by the shore
while I await the arrival of my family
for a special Easter celebration.
My home is full of inviting aromas
from the dishes that I have lovingly
prepared for my loved ones.
I am taking this time for myself
for some quiet reflection.
The lake sparkles like diamonds as the sun
reflects its radiant light upon the calm water.
The air is fresh and carries the intermingling
scents of damp earth and newborn grass.
I inhale deeply, breathing in the
vitality of the springtime air.
Life is burgeoning all around me ~
Crocuses provide a colorful display with
their crowns of purples, whites, and golds.
Buds give way to delicate new leaves as they
slowly unfurl into delicate shades of green.
As life struggles to emerge
into the light of April sunshine,
I find myself being revitalized by
the energy of rebirth that surrounds me.
An inner peace is pervading my soul
as I take in the beauty of this glorious day.
I feel so alive, so happy--and so blessed.
