So tenderly to search for you among the ashes my heart has blazed
A wildfire set, to kindle torches, from glowing coals unceasing
Lighting up the surfaces of tranquil lakes, in crimson aches
To flush the cheeks of skies, of flames to light the eyes, releasing

While half of me will wander on into the folds of endlessness
By beacon to redeem the part that you fulfill, from now until
To flames that gobble wildly the empty space, a spirits chase
Such is the glowing bed inside, the smoldering to flash collide and still

From liquid fire to warm the hands that touch upon you ever soft
In blue to white erotic burns the fever of a single sacred flight
To join the wind and sweep the lust of meadows into blossoms sweet
So tenderly to search for you among the ashes, to flame sachet of light

This builds...beautifully!  It gathers you in and bubbles within...and brims over...

with love!  Kathleen...as my granddaughter would say, "more than beautiful!"

Kathleen,

I don't know how I missed this earlier, but am so glad to see it.

It flows so smoothly I didn't breathe all the way through. Nothing I say could do it justice.

Just know how completely enjoyable and touching to the senses it is!!!

Hugs, Pat

You are truly one of my favorite writers here and this poem only goes to show the reason why.  Just gorgeous!  You have my vote.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
