Down low slink
and guttural--
moan
into a scarf of silk
dark breasts heave--
the pain is etched--
quiver lip
and eyebrow sweat
hips in slide
glitter queen
crying there
her nudity
of the soul
screaming repose--
as if a note
could make things right.

Watch her hand
trembling
capturing
the notes in air
flutter down
mimicking
the agony
of simple beat
shivering
in ecstacy
and feet apart
with head in tilt
drool in drip
from one gold tooth--
and then that note
made things alright.

Reminds me of that thin distant column of light on an otherwise clouded sea.

Sometime one note does... and sometimes.. it is a sour sound we hear, even though the music is sweet..

as usual... you show us how it is done... and as always..we appreciate it.

I was just remembering, this little lady who used to sing at this club I used to haunt, called "Uncle Blues"--a five foot powerhouse, she was--and? I wanted ya'll to see her too. Glad I was successful!

Even in the darkest life, there are some "keeper" memories...
