In reflection
one becomes two
Losing myself
in lock of eyes

On which side
of the mirror
does the real
one lie?

Struggled with this, love the idea but not my execution, I'm off to bed maybe I'll tinker with it later nite folks

Raph:

I dont think you need to tinker with this at all:

you are seeing two sides of yourself
struggling to incorporate them into one (right?)

amazing write - as always xxoo

I wouldn't tinker with this, Raph...perhaps add another hall of mirrors in your thought process, layering poetically where this might be taking you...letting us pick up the pieces where you drop them...now that, I'd be liking...yep...

I enjoyed this. I wish I could just step thru the mirror, exploring the opposite dimension

Sue in answer to your query ..SI..but also has a little psychotic element to it I ask strange questions sometimes..ask me some time
also the way I look I think all mirrors should be banned in my house anyway

Thanks Dixie i try..don't always succeed but try grin

Thanks Karilea as mentioned above I had just about enough of mirrors they're evil

James I usually go " oh dear god..oh god..what the..oh god.." something along those lines

Talia wonder the same thing, i think he's having more fun on his side despite the way he looks dammit

Thanks Nancy especially the hugs

Once again thanks dream appreciate the support

hey Aenimal

sorry I thought I'd already responded to this

mirrors used to bother me
self reflection still outweighs a physical image
I can walk away from a mirror - not myself

It would seem as though we are both very critical of ourselves while forgiving & seeing the beauty in others
perhaps because we know ourselves too well in some ways & not enough in others

thats my take & as always I enjoy your writing - & look forward to more

. . . all that we see is but a dream within a dream  . . .

Raph, I'm really glad that you didn't
tinker with this poem. How much more
perfect can you get? And......that goes
for the inside and the outside of you, too.
So, Raphael,
I told you about being so hard on your self.
We all can see that you are a very special
person on the inside, even when you
can't see how special you are....
and, just what do you see wrong with the outside of you??

Heart Hugs to you, Raphey
Ethel

Damn I love this...

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Okay I'm officially an Aenimal junkie now...Add my damn to that list too.

You always say the most profound/thought-provoking things in few words, you're the master of this style and you've fast become one of my favourites here at passions.  You add an elegance to pain and universal truths. I'm keeping this one too~
