again,
       I am reminded
                  that all things end
that the twilight announces the end of day
just as the dawn announces the end of night

                                all things end
knowing that all things end
why do we seem so surprised when they do?
this is the way of things
                              we've always known
                    so, why the surprise?
                                 why the shock?
perhaps because we never want it to really be over
                                            (to be at the end)
                    but, end it must
                                for, as I've said
that is the way of things

even eternity has an end
                          it is right when you
lift the pencil from the paper

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world.

Truly hoping all is well with you, Cher

(smile)

and I DO wanna quibble the idea--but that's just the serene one stomping her foot insisting that there is no ending until I write it!

But really?

I think sometimes we mistakes endings for the flux of "change"--it's still there. Just different.

enjoyed, m'friend.

Does it really end or does it go to the next chapter?   James

I would venture that our fear of an end is our fear of The end..... perhaps it would depend..... well penned.

The end of one thing is the beginning of another we just may not be able to see this from our personal point of view.

Sven, I believe that things never really
end until they are completely gone from our
hearts...and that's only when we, as individual "write it" ourselves (as Serenity said). Don't you think?

In other words, we may want things to be over when they really aren't.....they
continue, only differently.

Man, this sure was thought-provoking
(That's a good thing, though.)

Hugs,
Ethel

knowing that all things end
why do we seem so surprised when they do?
this is the way of things
we've always known
so, why the surprise?
why the shock?
perhaps because we never want it to really be over

And we think somehow that wishing makes it so... that we have some control... when so often, we don't... and all we can do is send up a plaintive wail at our helplessness to write another chapter. *S*
I like this very much, Sven... my thoughts have been on similar paths... just not this coherent. *S*
