"Still She Waves"
By: Janna Shaffer age: 14

It’s four A.M,
Smoke covers the area,
Like a thick fog,
Faint smells fill the air,
Gun Powder and Blood,
Smells Of Victory,
And Still She waves,
Red, White and Blue
In all her glory.

Loss of many lives,
But devoted they were,
To our wonderful country,
They won’t be forgotten,
Fighting and dying
For us their people,
And still she waves,
Red, White and blue
In all her glory.

Wars have been fought,
But united we stand,
Strong and Bold
For what we love,
Memorials stand
And still she waves,
Red White and blue,
In all her glory.

Jaysh - I haven't come across your name before, but WELCOME to Passions!  This certainly deserves a home in Reflections - although you are entering the voting process late in the game, let's hope you get this tribute to our Country in there!

Janna, this is wonderfully written, heartfelt and incredibly insighful considering your age.I can see that you are going to be quite a writer as you get older.Very impressive.I  truly admire your precociousness in writing
such an intuitive offering where so many tend to shy from writing honest and emotional
statements on the world and the human condition.I admonish you to continue writing as such.Write from your heart.Examine all things in the people around you and explore new ways to see things and how to state them in a unique perspective.I give you an A+ and a vote,to boot!

Peace,Geoffrey

Janna this is very good and I am voting for it.  I love your patriotism and understanding.  I hope it gets in the book.  ( if it does it will need editing.  Do you have a teacher or someone with good grammar skills who will help you with it?  won't not wont.Memorials, their not there and others) Joyce
