virgin spring in maiden snow
this child never knew her name--
dancing in the pristine foam
of glitter in a life's refrain
of yesterdays
and majorettes
and batons caught
from way up high
and valleys swell
with fruit of ripe
dripping syrup
between thighs--
the virgin is
initiate
and then
the virgin was...

Watch the moon
to find the cause
waxing crescent
fulfill me
watch the light
by reflection
slowly fill
becoming me
gather feathers
for the nest
as the nodding
breast concedes.
Instinct won't allow
for rest--
mother
takes the virgin throne.

Belly swell
reflecting sun
that is all the moon defines
potential of the balancing
mother holds her
hands in clasp
entwined
beneath
the volume of
her feet in such
defiant stance:

"Dance!"
and then she spun for years...

"Mother."
hold me once again
"Mother."
I am not the sin.
"Mother?"
say I'm not alone
"Mother--"
I've become the crone

I see the waning of the moon
finally understanding you
I watch the seedlings
taking root
powerful
creations
bloom
and cast large shadows
from long leaves
yet wicker
is my throne of choice--
let the branches cradle me
may the winds rob me of voice--
let the silver paint my hair
and give my head a glimmering
and toss my mane in moon rejoice--
reflection of the sun's reflect.

Yes, Karen, how do you do this!!  You went from the virgin twirling batons to a mother with graying hair. Simply wonderful writing, friend.

Hugs,
Ethel

(Psssttt...I started twirling the baton when I was about five years old. And, I  still twirl one sometimes. I just am not as limber as I used to be.  LOL   HaHa!!)

Karen..when I read you I find at times I am holding my breath..
and, your pieces always seem to end too quickly.
You have amazing talent..and it really shows here!
I don't always have the time to respond..
but please know that I always read you.
Blessed Be.
Nancy.

Where you took this inspire is cooler than I have words for,...the whole theme and interweave of the moon and life in cycle is just so..........you
You are a triple threat...
beautiful, brilliant and a poetess of exception.

Ocean wrapped around the sun
Sky fell down & pulled us in
stole away my oxygen
left me breathless in the blue
left me breathless there with you.

And such a tasteful journey in words from being a child to finding the path of womanhood. I wish you could post this on the board mentioned belowtoo Lady, you are incredible!  I still twirl batons in Walmart   and can  hula hoop with the bet of them.

Thanks all, I was just thinking about the symbolism of the Trible Goddess and how I apply it to my understanding of life. There's much more to be said on the subject, with various applications made from other spiritual systems, but this most closely describes how I view it in my own life.

and Mysteria? I checked out the site and found it very interesting--I have it bookmarked and when I have time to just read, I'll do just that. (I think the work you do is wonderful too, by the way. You are truly a remarkable person. Thank you for everything you have done for me.)

Love to all, and thanks so much, everywhere else? I'm just weird--here? Ya'll call that insight! Heh! gotta love it...

Hugs to forum. gawd-i-love-this-place
