Saluting with misty eyes

0 posted 2003-04-15 06:07 PM

As a child I had to learn to TRUST
I had to HEAR THE CALL of those
Who were never able to complete THE JOURNEY of life
Listening to the SILENCE
As the screamed their SILENT UTTERANCES
In their attempt of SAYING GOODBYE that final time
SOMEDAYS sitting in the QUIET
looking out the WINDOWS at the MOONLESS NIGHT
I can see the FLUID SILVER forms of those
Who reigned in TIMES past as they wait
Their KINDNESS RECALLED by only some
As the await THE KEY the the Great Beyond

Sunshine's great tribute to Serenity inspired this. I figured anyone as great a writer as Sunshine deserved to have the favor returned.

Ringo - thank you!
Taking the lines of a poet
and stringing them together
just adds to my treasure chest...
and now...
yet another inspired poet
with another string of pearls...

Thank you so much
for this lovely honor!

Ringo, this is beautiful. I know that Karilea loves it by her reply. I'm going to write her a rictameter in return for the one she wrote for me the other day. Very nice writing, Sir.

Hugs,
Ethel
