Let the poet sing his words.
Let them fill the room as birds.
Oh the poet is the lark.
With wisdom for the pounding dark.

Let him open up the shade on
what his hands and mind have made.
To better some.  For he went there.
Ever mindful, everywhere.

Let the poet grip the mind.
When coming home is so unkind.
Let him pull down all the walls.
For he has walked those empty halls.

This poet is a friend and more.
Gifted high above the war.
Where words and thoughts greet
the night.
And not to fear the black or white.

Dear poet, you sang the words and I gladly listened to both the lyrics and the melody...

Sing forevermore,

Oh yes.  This is so true!  And let us not forget, just as the poet can right many wrongs for the reader, he, too, can do this for himself as the writer.  I have been away from my own poetry writing for many years.  I wrote professionally in the business world,
write training video scripts and PR and marketing.  But none of these have been as rewarding as my poetry.  At the urging of my friends, I started to write again this January.  Now it is part of my day.  And I love reading others' works for poetry seems to bind us together in the human experience.
Beautiful words you have expressed here.

God Bless,
Patricia

Yes, just as you have done here.

I agree with what Pat said, as well.

Well written and thoughtful.

Thank-you all.

This world has lost its glory.  Let's start a brand new story now.  My love.  Right now.  There will be no other time.  And I can show you how.  You think.  That I don't even mean.  A single word I say.  It's only words.  And words are all I have.  To take your heart away.

The pen is mightier than the sword.  But a sword sure hurts.
