THE ORIGINAL !!!!

Today, I came across some of the most beautiful and moving words I have ever read.   This 'Toughie' hates to admit it, but it left me with tears in my eyes, thinking of the many loved companions over the last 66 years of my life who have left for the Rainbow Bridge.

I Offer a challenge to all of you around this table to put these sentiments into poetic words.   I am sure that the ensuing poetry will be even more emotional!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.   When an animal close to us dies, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.....

I've read this before... and it never fails to move me. *S* I have many friends on the other side of that bridge... and can't imagine heaven deserving the name if they can't lead me in. *S*

An excellent inspiration here.
I am going to attempt your challenge.

John,
If you get to "the tropics" before I do, save a few flames for me. I shall be along shortly
lol.

When the morning cries and you don't know why...
