Goodbye
By: Noah Eaton/Vandana
4/13/03

You're leaving now,
and when morning comes,
I'll be alone
And you would be gone
You left a red envelope on my pillow
You attached a stamp on it,
with your prism tears
Read it late one Thursday morning
I can trace your tears,
splattered over your cursive
Where'd you come from, where will I go?
How will I look back,
at your silhouette tomorrow?
How am I supposed to know
That time has come to say goodbye
Where did we go wrong?
And why are you leaving?
I didn't want to say goodbye to you
Thought this love was so strong
Will i look back at those times
That we spent together
When the nights brought morning light
Carved our initials on the sycamore tree
Outside in the front lawn
Smelled the lilacs in the spring,
the apple pies in autumn
I swear I can still see the outlines,
of snow angels,
we made,
even in August
As far as I'm concerned,
your memory won't be forgotten
But I won't be sleeping the same anymore
I suppose all magic is never perfect
But in my mind you were,
the closest to empyrean
Now I don't feel that innocent anymore
For having to feel heartbroken
I know you want another
To spent time together
I'll stay alive
Until you come back to me
And i won't forget you
At the time
Of you gone forever
Knowing when the seasons change in time
And your memory surely bring me back,
to the track of yesterday
I've got blood on my hands
Where I attempted to stop,
this hemorrhage,
with this tourniquet
Where my love lied bleeding
Was I skating on thin ice
Or walking on the wire?
I believe home is where the heart is
But I can't find my way home
Don't feel bad for me, I'll find my way
And I wish you the best
For someone to give you all you deserve
Your happiness is all I wish for
Until then...
            ...
              ...
                ...
                  ...goodbye...

A farewell beyond compare...Truly lovely-- made me almost cry with the sweet ache of it and the vivid memories of what once was...Beautifully written duet.

Warm huggums to each of you!

This captured the heart and the spirit of goodbye sadness. It was universally recognizable.

Noah - this is excellent, the words are so intertwined that I can't tell who wrote what sentence.

Vandana, an excellent write with Noah...
