They stood on Fidel Castro
as the freedom made its speech.
A revolutionary ender
and a blessing, their's to keep.
This is where i stop, and wonder
how things could have gone wrong.
How the soviet power attracted,
once pure, liberty's own soul.

It was innocent as white,
now is blacker than hell's sauna.
Only stop, and wish to think,
how the dove could have gone wrong...

"more than yesterday, less than tomorrow, i love you"

Claire you're poetic talents notwithstanding, the insight and subtle irony of these lines absolutely captivate me.  The power of your first line sets the stage for the not so subtle message to follow.  Bravo my friend.
