The Tree Or Life

O' Majestic one Life giving one
So still, yet reaching far
To tremor and whine, grasp and respond
to the wind and ravages of time

O' little one, the liver of life
etching a path on the plate below,
laughing and crying through valleys and peaks
The chance of moments-a gift.

O' yes, what a choice presents to us all
As we abide in this place and time,
To stand as the tree reaching out to the heights
yet inert in our field of view

Or to flex with the ways and events all around
to feel and to love and to live,
Our choice my friends, our choice - yes, behold!
'cause fortune is ours that we be!

Dear Lynda, this is truly wonderful, we will all have to watch our steps here, you have a talent to behold and admire, it is my choice to vote and that I shall.

PS, welcome to passions, there are many here that you will grow to know and will find you keep coming back.

Much enjoyed, till the next.

Sincerely
Rick

I love the phrase:

"laughing and crying through valleys and peaks
The chance of moments
-a gift."

Life truly is a gift, even through the times of tears. So I will continue to walk through the valleys and climb the peaks with a smile, knowing that life is a gift- and what a wonderful gift!

Thanks

El Campeador

P.S. You forgot to check the box that lets your poem be considered for the book. If you edit your poem, I think you can check the box. You will have my vote if you do!

Thanks Rick
Now I know how much you look forward to a response to your work....someone is listening to your words, thoughts and feelings that are written and obvious to all. I have always preferred to  counsel myself, so this is something new.

Lynda, great that you are sharing your thoughts, you must admit it is a great feeling to share and from that grow; you might be surprised what you write about and what you have no fear in sharing, the nights might become late, welcome to late night entertainment. Nice to have you here.

Sincerely
Rick

Lynda, I adored this piece of writing.  To be a tree..... what a novel thought.... Voting for this one.... and by the way,

Just a hint also... you could maybe get away with 4 line stanzas if you made your lines longer... you don't loose any meaning and it may get you into the book faster since it will shorten your poem length to half.  The amount of votes as well as poem length count towards acceptance.... that is why longer poems need more votes to be accepted. You have 24 hours to edit your poems in this forum. Just click on the icon 3rd from the left at the top of your poem page to get back into your edit mode. I would really like to see this one in the book.

Love, Light, and Peace,

Sherry

Cherish the good memories of the past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. But above all... be kind to yourself today.

interesting thought
to "be" is everything
I am reminded of a page in a book
a man is to be hanged
suddenly and for this one time in his life
he understands what a gift it is to "be"
never has the sky been blue before -it was just the sky
never has a wall been  a spectrum of colours-it was just a wall
to "be" should be "to experince"
