Rolling tides in the sea called sorrow
pull me apart at the seams
the sea's endless ebb and flow
hide the once endless dreams
and aspirations for tomorrow

I glance up as I have a million times before
only to see the same veil of grey
obscuring the distant shores
hiding non-existant blue skies
and in that moment, icy rain
began to pierce the somber clouds as if they began to cry
the constant yet, sporadic, patter of the rain
seems to scatter my concentration
and ease the pain

Here I am
suspended in this timeless rift
somewhere between trepidation and monotony
without sensation, floating adrift
perfect disarray has caught ahold of me
the sands of time continue to sift
through the fabric of being
slowly I close my eyes
to prevent seeing
and fade away
to a place beyond
without a word to say

A very cool poem.  I love poetry that personifies and explores natural phenomena so intimately, in describing an emotion.  I hope this one gets into the book.

A handsomely penned, emotional escape from the pits of torment!

Excellent use of words, and play on emotions.

Its mystery is captivating and I can only say that some how it touched me in a way I cannot fathom. Thank you!
