What dances through your mind sweet little girl
To cause that precious smile of delight
Has God sent little angels to unfurl
The mysteries of heaven through the night?

What secrets would you tell if you could share
With us that charming land within your head
Do fairies twirl about your teddy bear
And sprinkle star-dust magic on your bed?

Do tiny pups and kitties roll around
In endless play to cause hilarity
Within your dreamland world could there be found
A doting soul who looks a bit like me?

May only good befall you without fail
Awake, asleep, forever, Abigail.

~

For my sweet little granddaughter, Abigail

There just is nothing as inspiring  as a sweet grandchild except of course your own hild. .  I'd love to have my children small again, except I would have to give up those grandchildren.  Lovely poem from another doting grandma.  Joyce

Thank you so much everyone! I appreciate your kind words and votes! I thought I'd give Abigail's poem a shot at the book since the poems that I wrote for her sister Nicole and her cousin Christian were in the first book. If this one makes it, all my grandkiddies will be in print! Nonetheless, I am very blessed just having them in my life! They are all very precious!

Thanks again!

This poem will be passed through the generations via Abigail and the anthology will take its place alongside the family Bible. Thus is immortality achieved for a writer of your calibre! Thanks for sharing this heartfelt song of praise!

Denise -

I love the imagination and visuals in this poem.  It would make a great bed time children's book.  God bless you.  I would love to see this one in the book.  You have my vote and thank you.

Now about the only thing sweeter than these words you share is that pic of her in your lap.  Yes, this belongs in the book and there will be many days when she reads this and have a smile shine across her face.    Very nice and very sweet.

Thanks so much, everybody! So glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate your lovely words very much!

Mark, actually the little on my lap is one of my other grandchildren, Christian, another cutie! Here is a link of some pictures of all three of them. I have to get some more recent pics. Pictures become outdated quickly when they are little!

Thanks again!
