in the middle of the moonlight
     he calls me beautiful--
sleep releases me
and my eyelids slowly rise
to show me this man before me
who has awakened in the night...
through the blinds on my window
moon-paint laces his loving face
i smile
as my eyes seek sleep again
he kisses me
and melts back down beside me
he loves me...
even when he wakes in the middle
of the moonlight
     he calls me
          beautiful...

A beautiful poem and what a lucky girl!  I missed this one before, but glad I found it.  I was laughing at Suthern, as I know that one with my cat right beside me under the covers LOL.

Lovely write - my couch potato border terrier wakes me up, sometimes at moonlight to tell me she needs out. Not quite the same? No! guess not. Oh well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I happily voted for this gentle poem.
