Take me back to yesterday, or even the days before
to sunshine and to happiness and maybe something more
Today is not my day you know, today is dark and gray
and even if you smile at me, I won't come out to play

Take me back to yesterday, when I was a little child
I could roam the pastures then, full of flowers wild
Today is not my day you know, for pastures are no more
large buildings placed on land you see, wich was green before

Take me back to yesterday, when loved ones weren't dead
when I could hear them talking real, not only in my head
Today is not my day you know, my head is full of voices
constant ordering me around, I have to make some choices

Take me back to yesterday and I'll just skip tomorrow
and maybe I forget about the gray and dark and sorrow
Today is not my day you know, but you can change that fast
if you'll take me back to yesterday, I'm sure I'll make it last

I know, I know, I had it here before and Marge was angry that I had it removed, so to please her, here it is again.

Sometimes it seems like all my friends are and family are leaving, and going somewhere without me. Yesterday can be very attractive.

I'm so glad that you did bring this back for I have not had the pleasure of reading it until now.  You have such a lyrical quality to your words.  The flow is natural and the rhyming superb.  Theme is constant and continuously revealing in thought and mood.  A most appealing and somewhat sad perspective.  Very nice.

Great style: clear and unambiguously wishful thinking, but expressed in such a lyrical manner and with apt images. The tone is unashamedly nostalgic, but there is a sense of reality created because the tone is also quite calm. I am so glad that you re-posted because I enjoyed the read and related to its theme. I'm off to vote!

Thanks for all your votes.

Sharon, I've been up to my neck in sheepbusiness and photographybusiness, LOL I have only 24 hours a day, of wich I spend only some 4 or 5 a night in bed

Didn't you see me swirl around? Hitting a button here and there? But after reading 5 or 6 poems in a row, my head started spinning so I decided to only read and hit the button if I liked it.

And then two custom officers picked me up, but that's another story. You can read all about it in open.

Geesh, again it's almost 4.00 am already. Think I'll take the day off tomorrow or I will grant everybody a return of money when I see their tax applications LOL and that won't please my boss I gather.
