A Springtime Show

A golden blanket spreading
as far as the eye can see,
stretching to the horizon,
as if to infinity.
Miles of yellow daffodils
escaping the picker's greed,
live to fulfil destiny
for a weary world in need.

No miser's gold can match them
as a tonic for the soul.
No written word is worthy
their lush beauty to extoll.
In their eagerness to charm us
they have challenged ice and snow;
while winter bowing humbly,
acquiesces to their show.

Stunningly bold and vibrant colors of Spring abound here my friend.  It is such a wonderful thing to see the rebirth of the land at this time of year.  You provide a beautiful glimpse of the process.

Joyce,
Floods of childhood memories for me in those flowers! Excellent write for the book.
