Melt Away

It doesn't matter it's raining
Or the sun is shining.
The smell of you is so warm
That my whole body collapse
In front of you... (right there beside you)

It doesn't matter I'm hungry
Or my belly rises like a balloon.
The taste of you is so gentle
That I feel like it's a cushion
To my distress... (ease my belly)

I don't want a day without you.
You are water to my instinct.
My lip slowly touches you.
You warmly welcome me
Sitting on my tongue.

Each drop of your fine
Gentleness echoes within me.
You inspire my thoughts
As I spill them on ink,
As though I'm sharing... part of you.

Author Note: A cup of coffee, a piece of me.

I thought this was a beautiful love poem and then you deflate this idea   It is a cup of coffee?  I read it again.  Yes, it could be a cup of coffee.  Loved it just the same.  Love, Joyuce

Eliza, I simply  love  this. I was going to write what a delightfully different love poem this was....then I read your note that it's about a cup of coffee.  LOL    Voting...

(But, now, I do feel this way about my Love, too!! LOL)

Hugs,
Ethel

I too had to go back and read your love poem again after your footnote at the end and I think also that either way this poem is read that it remains a most romantic love poem be it about a love for coffee or a love for that special someone. Heart warming and delicious. Good job.

Spilling coffee onto paper..I can relate to that!

This is so sweet! Unless you take it black,
but sweet anyway!

Very versatile piece. Well written and works well for both sippers and soul mates. Liked it and got my vote.
