~*~
Silence
Quiet stillness
A stillness felt by both
Causes chill to be in the air
This type of silence has very loud sound
So loud that it is deafening
Hurting between ones ears
Very painful
Silence

Gadzooks, Ethel! This was another terrific rictameter! You've got it down to a science--and an art!

(big hugggssssss) Oh Ethel, I too don't like that kind of silence, dearest friend, the only serenity I like is when it is beautiful outside and the sparrows and crickets are chirping! (sigh) I send special healing hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light awlays shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Don't know about rictameters (duh). How does that differ from cinquain?

Anyways, whatever it is, I like this powerful short message.

Voting.

This type of silence has very loud sound

I remember the song "Silence is Golden"... and it can be. *S* But the wrong kind of silence can fade all colors to bleak... you've written this very well! *S*

Linda, thank you, friend.......
.
Nancy, thank you. I appreciate
your vote.
.
Noah, thank you very much.
.
Spirit, Thank you, I appreciate
your vote.
.
Jason, I'm sorry you've heard
this kind of silence. It can be awful.
.
jjote, I'm glad that you liked it
and I appreciate your vote. A Cinquain has
5 lines...A rictameter has 9 lines, the
first and last lines being the same 2 syllables.
The syllable count for the rictameter is 2-4-6-8-10-8-6-4-2. I really
enjoy trying to do them.
.
Joyce, thank you for liking it. I
appreciate your vote.
.
Janet Marie, thank you. You should try it.
.
.

They're fun to do.
.
Sue, I'm glad you found it. I really
appreciate your vote.
.
Kelly, thank you.
.
Flower, thanks for liking it and
for voting.
.
Chris, thank you for liking it and
for the click...click.
.
Karilea, Yes!
I know that you know that I know.
.
Suthern, thank you for liking it.
.
.
.
I really appreciate each and every one for
replying to my poem, and to the ones who voted.............thank you all.
Heart Hugs,
Ethel

Ethel, I like form poems. And I like simple poems that are deceptive in their simplicity. So you know I like this one!

Yes it can truly be deafening the awkward silence that stifles the ability to find the way back to each other.  Poignantly said Ethel.

It seems that you've really found your poetic niche within your seemingly natural ability for writing in Rictameter. YAY!!! Sorry, but I just can't be silent about it, I think that this particular poem would represent your talent very very nicely in the coming book. Good job.
