Weave A Tapestry

Weave a web of words in trace
A hint of loves everlasting grace
See the threads that flow through
Touch the weft and warp of true

Life’s a tapestry woven with care
The highs and lows threaded there
Fate weaves lives day by day
What is the future none can say

Each day we live we know no more
Of the future than we did before
What will be and where we go
None can say for none can know

Stitch the tapestry with colours bright
Take the gift of hope’s delight
Woven in these threads of this
The truth of life is love’s pure kiss

Weave the threads over and through
This thread is me and this is you
Until the tapestry is complete
We can’t know the fate we’ll meet

Stitches of blue, red and green
All is shown, yet still unseen
What steps we take in life’s dance
Is all left to fate’s own chance

Weave the web of life and love
Follow the teaching of Him above
Do all that you can or would
Try to be always kind and good

The weft and warp of your tapestry
Will reflect your colours faithfully

Marsha

With love to those whose stitches
in my tapestry colour my life with
love and light

throughout the poem--and you just sleep in
the words. it captivates you.

Marsha, this is classic. The idea that at the end of life I've produced a tapestry is somehow very satisfying.

This is absolutely beautiful, Marsha. *S* I could see the needle weave through the threads as I read... adding a beautiful enhancement here... mending a hole in the heart there... creating a beautiful whole from mere threads brought together.

I'm so glad you're woven into my tapestry. *S*

Marsha,

Haven't been here  very long and can't recall reading any other of your poetry. But, if it is like this will be worth looking for it.

It like this line, especially:

"The truth of life is love's pure kiss"

really beautiful....enjoyed..

Hello Marsha

You always weave the most beautiful pictures from the finest threads of your heart.  This was totally exquisite and I am so pleased to see that it was accepted for the book.  Here is a little something for you my friend, written by me.

"A poet weaves his words
through each verse to create
a most beautiful tapestry
for us all to admire."

Take care......Sue
