the bold colors that they represent
walking up and down the sides of planes
civilians run for cover in the hills
as a rocky blanket of something
lasting from the green to brown
of the i's that follow so closely in suit
they say we are trying to take over
of what? we question, though lies go unanswered
the truth filters in behind her gas mask
she ducks behind the bunkers
afraid of the poison that fills the lungs
of reporters and cameras everywhere
and what are we to do
all the way over in the free countries
watching the colors fly in the sky
with braves souls attached to the chutes
voluntarily risking their lifes to protect
us in the red white and blue honor
that twas bestowed upon them
as there job for the fate they risk
into the signature that upholds morals
about the courtesys of war
believe in the saying
in god we trust

Windows stained with the fog, words written in by a girl.

A very interesting write. And I agree, there are many different views on what is happening in our world today.

(big hugggsssssss) Indeed, our nation was founded on the notion of "In God We Trust", not in any mortal we trust like Bush! (sad sigh) I pray that soon we can all look to Him and begin to work for a peaceful resolution, this is very sadly spoken, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Riley, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This book is sure to be a wonderful time capsule of our lives in 2003.

Lovely, Riley.  What can I say?  Your style always has the same effect on me.  This has a lot more to say than some of your other ones, as someone in this thread mentioned, which makes your use of simpler language not only forgivable, but important.

I'm voting because I, too, feel this book requires a timely quality.

Very well written,Riley. You eloquently describe the various sides in this.I think "Reflections" needs to "Reflect" more of the human condition and current events. You have my vote on this offering.
