Some say thay you can't go home again.
Not true I suspect for the fortunate ones
who carry a piece of home with them.

You know the ones I mean.
They bring quiet confidence
to times of uncertainty
with their subtle wisdom;
all the while bearing a smile
of comely modesty.

Regardless of their adventures,
or the distances these mentors amass;
their station is one of comfort and ease,
without really trying.
Is it any wonder that an irresistible attraction
exists within their bounds?
As countless, wayward souls cling
to the answers they bring;
for burdensome doubts
that shadow their days on end.

I try to imagine the advice
these citizens of the world might give,
"Do you truly seek to wind your way home-
to go back again?"

Silently they must laugh
at my expectations wound.

"Someday", I promise myself,
"I will come to know their mannner and kind".
Following the paths
emblazoned by these saints;
that need not remorse
legacies of would-be disciples
left out in the cold.

Sparse moments provide a glimpse
of the methods I seek,
swiftly lost in apathy's tally.
(Look to them fast
for their conduit shall close.)

"Lay aside yourself"
comes their undulant ring,
"clear the paths to show
a kinder sacrifice
that must be made,
if you are to sing
our gentle chanson of peace.

Set your sights beyond mimicked taunts
that cloud your view;
an image - panoramic and revealing,
lies just through the way,
where answers come
to doubts laid dormant and plain."

Carry a piece of home with you...
is that the simple Amen,
for a hymn I would sing
as truth unfolds?

Perhaps best rehearsed in faith;
but let me sing out
again and again.

Countless paths will bring chance
to meet with these simple sages;
blessed then to receive their subtle embrace.

"On with your journey,
for you have visited our way.
Look well - for you will meet
the uninformed and their charade;
that surely perpetuates the ongoing sway.

Remember your home.

Offer the lilt of love,
in that you would intend."

Oh yes dear friend, an excellent choice for submission. We all have crossed paths with people such as this. We feel their touch upon our hearts, they effect our lives in such a wonderful way. You paint upon these pages of blue, with your words, a layered picture that can be seen in the minds eye. Wonderful, simply wonderful.

Well welcome to Passions and what a wonderful posting.  I have met some of those people of which you write, and along my path I suppose I shall meet more.  Very nice write indeed.

Welcome to Passions. You've penned a fabulous poem here. There are many people who are very much like you have described here in this poem, sometimes I think people just don't always recognize the wisdom they portray. You've recognized and show a wonderful message that hope makes it in the book.

Sometimes we have to follow a stronger voice, even if it's silent.
