When You Wish Upon A Star
By: Noah Eaton
1/29/02

I
look
up at a
star in the
skies, gleaming
in the evening sky
with grace and beauty,
shimmering with a lucid smile as I make my most desired wish
to the star, it winks at me with a ray of light that shines
through my heart with grace and cheer, laughing
joyfully with love and hope, which leaves
me knowing that someday, this wish
will be granted in reality, and
I smile as I continue to see
this star shine in the sky, this
diamond tear of  the angels of the
heavens rushing     light in my eyes,
filling me with.                .great pure love
as pure.                                           .as gold,
and .                                                           .joy

Noah, this is so beautiful. I am always in awe of poems that have shapes as I have yet to figure out how to do it.

It is my privilege to vote for this wonderful piece.  Hugs, Marti

Noah, I loved this on when I read it on Open, and I still love it. Glad that you decided to put it for book submission. You've got my vote..

BTW, I took your suggestion and put "Underneath Velvet Skies" in here.

Hugs,
Ethel

Noah,

I didn't check but this must have made it into the book, since no place to vote, but I love this and want to tell you how much I like this line:

"diamond tear of the angels"

Great poem, quite beautiful!

Original expression and form of an old idea. The phrase used as the title was originally used as the title for a song in a Walt Disney production. You have creatively elaborated on it through the use of an evocative graphic and soulful words enhanced by an appropriate shape. Worthy of inclusion in the anthology!

Very beautiful and from one whom has done a few shape poems in his time, I can appreciate the time and effort that went into this piece.  Stand up and take a well deserved bow.

Wow Noah, don't know how missed this one as it sure is a shining star that is for sure.  I have tried these but sure couldn't have ever come close to doing one as beautiful as this one.  It is too bad the graphics can't accompany it.  Absolutely stunning!
