I posted this awhile ago in the Pub. It was written by my daughter, Ellie, when she was nine years old.
What a wonderful poet.

Sit on a hill picking roses,
Waiting for the sunset to come down on you.
Stopping at a stop sign,
Waiting for your friend,
So you can play in the red playground.
Watching the clouds go by,
Thinking of a red dress,
A red dress I used to wear in a cold winter night.
Watching the red raindrops fall from the sky,
Watching them hit the ground,
And waiting for the clouds to go by,
And for the red, shiny, shivery sun to shine on me.

Very nicely done - especially for a nine year old - might one presume she liked the color red.

Spirit-
She had to write the poem for school and it had to be about a color and she chose red.

Joyce-
She'll be happy to hear it.

Best

Seems the "red" apple doesn't fall far from the tree. This is really excellent work for a nine year old. Encourage her to keep writing!
