A kind word,
A loving touch.
A whispered joke,
Hugs and such.
A frightened child,
A friend in need.
A gentle kiss,
A quiet plea.

A wistful sigh,
A deep regret,
A gentle hand,
We don’t forget.
A child’s game,
A story told,
Etched in stone,
From days of old.

They leave footprints
On our hearts.
They touch our lives,
They leave their mark.

A firm push,
A warm embrace,
Room to breathe,
When you need space.
A heartfelt note,
A friendship poem,
A call to say,
“You’re not alone.”

A dance in rain,
A silly face,
A wedding dress,
From grandma’s lace.
A knowing glance,
Across the room,
One that says,
“I love you, too.”

They leave footprints,
On our hearts,
They touch our lives,
They leave their mark.

A favorite toy,
A little hug.
Friendships made,
With acts of love.
A silent tear,
In the night,
To mourn a friend,
Who lost the fight.

A snowy day,
A friendly smile,
“Please, come in,
Warm up awhile.”
A welcome wave,
“I’m glad you’re here.”
A sad good-bye,
“You’ll still be near.”

They leave footprints,
On our hearts,
They touch our lives,
They leave their mark.

They leave footprints,
On our hearts,

My only comment would be...
You forgot to add beautiful poetry.
This left a footprint on my heart for sure.
Thanks for sharing it.

And so as we walk our trail in life, we leave a path of footprints...some our own, some others who have come into our life and wandered our path along side us, all special in their own way.

WOW! This was...WOW! You're BEAUTIFUL poem has taken away my vocabulary, hunn.

I'm all for leaving footprints and I
promise not to obsess about a dirty
kitchen floor.

But seriously, I'm all for leaving
footprints.
Lovely poem, bestgirl.

This is one of the best submissions that I have read. I hope that this poem makes it into the book.
